DOMAINE DE L'HERRÉ

DOMAINE DE L'HERRÉ

South West, France

Established in 1974, Domaine de l'Herré covers 133 hectares in the historic Armagnac region, in the South west France, near Éauze. The vineyard is located on hilly Southern slopes, offering an exceptional panorama of the Pyrenees.

A high concentration of sand, ferrite and clay, known collectively as fawn sand, creates the perfect growing conditions for popular white wine varieties, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Gros Manseng. In addition to the action of the soil, the hot days and cool nights in Gascony allow the grape skins to thicken and produce the specific levels of acidity required for fine white wine. Since the first harvest, the grapes of these vineyards have been renowned for their balance, freshness and complex aroma.
