Region: Barolo, Piedmont - Italy
Grape: 100% Nebbiolo
Color: garnet red, velvety and deep
Nose: pure cherries and plums accented with spice, graphite, eucalyptus and licorice
Palate: Medium to full bodied, more of that new leather and red meat expression in flavour, but with ample fruit, a gentle graininess to the tannin that causes some pleasing friction, iron and dried herb perfume (again) on the long firm finish
Baudana is a hidden gem among the historical vineyards of Serralunga. Once celebrated, then forgotten, today finally regains its past prestige. Located on the western slope of Serralunga, just north of Parafada and Lazzarito, features a Sant’Agata fossil marl with a peculiar bluish tone. This is a rather unique soil within the contest of Serralunga d’Alba.
