Domaine du Pas de l'Escalette
Languedoc-Roussillon, France
*Biodynamic Wine
The estate is located at the foothill of Plateau du Larzac, with an altitude of 350 meters above sea level. It is spread over 22 hectares in total, split among 50 different terraces on two sides of the valley.
The vineyards are composed of local limestone scree soils with clay, most of the vines being old, with an average of 45 years. Julien and Delphine Zernott are the owners since 2003. They have helped making wine in Menetou Salon, in Loire before fully committing to their own estate on this high plateau of Languedoc. Despite using classic Mediterranean grapes for their wines, they translate the uniqueness of the terroir into freshness and softness in their wines.
The estate is certified organic and biodynamic with Biodyvin and has been awarded 2 stars by La Revue des Vins de France.
