Clarisse de Suremain
Burgundy, France
*Natural Wine
Clarisse de Suremain, once a classical pianist, transitioned into winemaking after earning a master’s degree and working in consulting. Inspired by her uncle, Eric de Suremain, a veteran in biodynamic viticulture, she studied viticulture in Beaune and worked with biodynamic growers, most notably David Didon.
In 2019, Clarisse acquired her first vineyard plot, focusing on Aligoté, Pommard, and Volnay, all organically farmed. Her holdings now cover 2.5 hectares, including land inherited from her family in Monthelie. She also sources grapes from areas around Beaune and Chablis.
Clarisse follows natural winemaking principles, minimizing intervention and avoiding sulfur when possible. Her wines are celebrated for their purity, precision, and freshness, offering complexity that evolves with time.
